What we provide in our office is not prescription medicines, it is not surgeries, it is not anything that is provided by conventional medical establishment.  Acupuncture is different from western medicine. Our type of healing deals with correcting imbalances in the vital energy of the body, which we call “Chi.”  Our goal is to help your body do it's own healing, by means of redirecting it's "life force."  We specialize in finding imbalances in the life force.  We find these imbalances, because we are trained to find them.

Because imbalances occur in everyone and because they occur frequently, we determined that we must check our clients on frequent basis, unless our examination indicates otherwise. Depending on the condition, there are acupuncture protocols that require several treatments performed consecutively.  Furthermore, according to how acupuncture has worked for centuries, some serious cases may require treatments everyday for a brief period of time.

Results with Acupuncture:
You probably heard about those clinical trials where everyone talks about excellent results, fantastic recoveries, etc. with acupuncture.  Those clinical trials are done according to prescribed series of treatments!  In a clinical trial money is not an issue for the participants, most of the time clinical trials are paid for by grants from institutions.  Clinical trial participants come in and receive acupuncture until desired result is achieved, or prescribed series of treatments are completed.  But in real life who can afford treatments at $80 to $120 a session like it is regularly charged for a session of Acupuncture?  A program that may bring full recovery, may be out of reach of most people.

Why do we have a Honor Box?
Simply because, at the rate charged at a regular Acupuncture office, very few people can afford to get Acupuncture done right way, ... the way it's suppose to be done through a series of treatments.  At those rates even fewer people can afford regular, ongoing maintenance or preventative care.  Although everyone needs acupuncture, not everyone will get it simply because of time or money concerns.  Some people have never received acupuncture from us, and are also scared of our hair tin needles. We can not do anything about time concerns, but we can provide excellent treatment, with the tiniest high quality needles and we can ease money concerns individual may have.  Number of Acupuncture sessions needed should not purely based on money, but it should be based on number of sessions needed for your body to heal properly.

The average person sees a medical doctor three to six times a year. If we expected to see you that infrequently, we would have fees comparable to that of a medical doctor. That would defeat our purpose, which is to make regular acupuncture care affordable for everyone.

What determines the cost of Acupuncture?
We have the most affordable pre-pay systems for our members that are on wellness programs. In any case, In our office it is agreed that cost of a individual treatment should be set at around $35 on the low end, and $65 on high end.   The reason for this is simple:  In the old days acupuncturists would charge the amount of money that could feed their family for one meal - either a humble meal, or a small feast, what ever the client could afford.  In today's world, $35 to $65 pretty much equals that amount.  But those are only suggested numbers.

No Excuse to let yourself suffer!
However the beauty of honor box system is that you set your own fees.   We realize that the times are very tough for some people now, and many are suffering, financially as well as physically and emotionally.  For us to offer the Honor Box system, is simply the the Honorable thing to do at this time.  With Honor Box System, each client is given choice to determine the most affordable amount for them according to their income.  We do not verify income in order to set a sliding scale plan or ask for pay stubs etc.  We do not monitor how much money is put into the Honor box by each individual.  There is no upper limit on how much to put into the Honor Box, because to tell you the truth, our treatments are the best money can buy and your good health is priceless.

Doing the right thing.
For the clients who are not on pre-paid programs, the Honor Box serves as a means to receive the most affordable care.  In this case patient determines, what the right payment amount is for them according to what they can afford without hurting themselves, their family or ours.   This system works, and provides many with affordable high quality care as long as client keeps everyone's interest in perspective as well as theirs when they contribute to the Honor Box.
